Concert at the Académie des beaux-arts: Paisiello, Salieri, Rossini

 

At the invitation of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, William Christie and Les Arts Florissants tackle an unusual repertoire for them, that of bel canto, in this tribute concert to the composers and academicians Giovanni Paisiello, Antonio Salieri and Gioacchino Rossini!

Through the “Concert d'un fauteuil” cycle, the Académie des Beaux-Arts pays tribute to the illustrious composers elected from among its members since the creation of the Company. William Christie, himself a member of the Académie, wanted to take part in this celebration by exploring for the first time the work of Italian composers Paisiello, Salieri and Rossini, through a selection of virtuoso opera arias. A premiere!
