Carte blanche to Béatrice Martin
Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti share a favorite instrument: the harpsichord. While the father's keyboard pieces remain overshadowed by his operas, the son's 555 sonatas have made him famous throughout the centuries and constitute a pinnacle of harpsichord composition.
To pay tribute to this repertoire, Paul Agnew has given carte blanche to the great French harpsichordist Béatrice Martin for two short chamber music concerts. An opportunity to celebrate this instrument so characteristic of Baroque music, in all its brilliance and virtuosity!
