Maison de la Fontaine & Garden Café

Maison de la Fontaine

The first area of the Quartier des Artistes to be opened to the public, the Maison de la Fontaine and the Garden Café occupy a central position in the village and on the international campus.

Entirely restored in keeping with the rural architecture of the Vendée region, the Maison de la Fontaine is used throughout the year as a rehearsal and educational venue. The interior is decorated with large canvases by contemporary Austrian artist Michael Odlozil.

The surrounding walled garden opens its doors to the public when the weather is fine, serving as a catering venue (the Garden Café) during the Spring Festival, the Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie and the European Heritage Days. Each summer, it also hosts a new landscape creation by gardener and botanist Baptiste Pierre.

This project would not have been possible without the generous contribution of our patrons. We thank them for their presence and support, which play an essential role in the success of the Fondation Les Arts Florissants and its past and future projects. Thanks to them, we can continue to promote and nurture a love of Baroque culture and music, gardens and heritage in a spirit of transmission.
