Christoph Willibald GLUCK - Orphée et Eurydice

After having directed Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, in a successful 2017 production, Paul Agnew is once again tackling the myth of Orpheus. But this time, through another opera: that of Christoph Willibald Gluck, composed in 1762.

For this occasion, he gathers a cast composed of young baroque singers among the most talented of their generation: high-tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen, a faithful collaborator of Les Arts Florissants applauded on the greatest international stages; Ana Vieira Leite, a flamboyant Portuguese soprano revealed during the last edition of Le Jardin des Voix, Les Arts Florissants' academy for young singers; and finally, Julie Roset, a promising young soprano, discovered at the Juilliard School in New York by William Christie and Paul Agnew.

This youthful Orphée promises to be a memorable one!
