Paola Ibrahim, between baroque and pop music
Paola Ibrahim (Pól is her stage name) is a Lebanese author, composer and performer. Selected thanks to the international program NAFAS, she will stay from April 19 to May 31, 2022 at the Centre Culturel de Rencontre in Thiré, to work on a new album mixing present-day... and baroque music!
In the context of the acute crisis that is currently afflicting the Lebanese cultural scene, the French Institute, the Association des Centres culturels de rencontre and the French Institute of Lebanon have joined forces to invite Lebanese artists to take up residencies in France, through an emergency program called NAFAS. Paola Ibrahim will profit from her residency in Thiré to immerse herself in the baroque spirit, from which she intends to draw inspiration to compose her next album, where she will mix baroque and modern music.
A beautiful meeting between past and present, baroque and contemporary, which we can't wait to discover!
