Concert & café: Handel at home
Sébastien Marq
- recorder, traverso
Camille Sors
- cello
Rafaela Salgado
- harpsichord

Flutist Sébastien Marq invites us to a dialogue between Handel's flute sonatas and those of his elder and inspirer, Arcangelo Corelli. It's an opportunity to discover the specific nature of the writing both Handel and Corelli reserved for this instrument - and in which Italian virtuosity shines through.
A leading specialist in the Baroque repertoire, Sébastien Marq is a regular member of Les Arts Florissants, appearing in many of its productions as a soloist and with the orchestra. He also performs with Jordi Savall, Emmanuelle Haïm, the Marguerite Louise ensemble and harpsichordist Élisabeth Joyé, as well as with the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, all of whom attach the utmost importance to passing on his art. Audiences at the Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie were able to hear him in particular on the occasion of the carte blanche he was given in 2024, as part of the “Après-midis au Jardin” series of short concerts.
For this Concert & Café, he will be accompanied by two young musicians he met as part of the artist-in-residence programs at Quartier des Artistes, the international campus of Les Arts Florissants in Thiré (Vendée, Pays de la Loire).
