“Sing On!”: Purcell and 17th-Century English Music

 
Who is it for?

This masterclass is open to singers of all voice types, whether professionals or students at a higher education institution, and will focus on works by English Baroque composers, particularly Purcell. 

It is limited to 12 participants.

 

Where and when?

From February 24 to 26, 2027 (arrival in Thiré on February 23 at the end of the day) at the Quartier des Artistes in Thiré (Vendée, France), an exceptional heritage site combining beautiful gardens and musical pleasures, birthplace of the Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie

 

Workflow

The schedule will consist of group and individual work sessions, as well as theoretical sessions (sources, context, etc.). 

A public presentation concert will be held at the end of the masterclass.

 

How to apply? 

Singers who wish to participate should submit a resume, a cover letter, and one or two recordings of excerpts from works by Purcell or another 17th-century English composer using this form: go to the online application form

(includes tuition, single-room accommodation, all meals, and transportation to and from the nearest train station)
