This masterclass offers an in-depth exploration of the 17th- and 18th-century repertoires, with a particular focus on instrument history, documented historical techniques, and context-based performance.
Who is it for?
This masterclass is intended for professional violinists and violists, as well as students enrolled in a higher education institution.
It is limited to 12 participants.
Where and when?
From November 4 to 7, 2026 (arrival in Thiré on November 3 at the end of the day) at the Quartier des Artistes in Thiré (Vendée, France), an exceptional heritage site combining beautiful gardens and musical pleasures, birthplace of the Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie.
Workflow
The schedule will consist of group and individual work sessions, as well as theoretical sessions (sources, context, etc.).
A public presentation concert will be held at the end of the masterclass.
