The Quartier des Artistes

In the heart of the Vendée, this international artistic and cultural campus welcomes young artists and specialists in art and gardens throughout the year, in a dynamic of openness and exchange with the village and its visitors.

The Vendée - Pays de la Loire region, William Christie's preferred region, is at the heart of the project of the Fondation Les Arts Florissants - William Christie. It is here, in the village of Thiré that the conductor has been working for more than thirty years on a labour of love: combining gardens, music and heritage on an international arts campus.

A centre for residency and creation

Throughout the year, the Artists' Quarter is open to study, work and creation residencies based on the baroque spirit.

Promoting rural heritage

By promoting the work of local craftsmen, the Artists' Quarter also represents a remarkable contribution to restoration using old techniques and materials, that are highlighted during the European Heritage Days.

Coming to the residence

Throughout the year, the Fondation Les Arts Florissants - William Christie welcomes artists, researchers and creators to come and work or create in the serene and inspiring setting of the village of Thiré.
