Opening the 2026 edition of Dans les Jardins de William Christie, this Grand Concert pays tribute to Jean-Philippe Rameau, one of William Christie’s most cherished composers. Conceived as a tailor-made evening, the programme revisits highlights from some of Rameau’s greatest operas, recapturing the energy and splendour of the large-scale lyric productions that have become a hallmark of the Les Arts Florissants repertoire.

Blending dance suites with emblematic operatic scenes, this musical anthology showcases the full richness of Rameau’s art — from the refined exuberance of opéra-ballets such as Les Fêtes d’Hébé and Les Paladins to the dramatic intensity of lyric tragedies including Castor et Pollux and Les Boréades. This vibrant and richly coloured programme highlights the versatility and brilliance of the Les Arts Florissants Choir alongside the orchestra led by Emmanuel Resche-Caserta.

Following the performances at the Water Mirror, audience members are invited to wander freely through the illuminated Jardins de William Christie by candlelight.
