Release of the DVD Rameau, maître à danser on 4 November

November 4 2014

In June 2014, as part of Rameau year, the Théâtre de Caen and Les Arts Florissants decided to bring back to life two intimate and rarely played ballets by Jean-Philippe Rameau, and to create Rameau, maître à danser.

Conducted by William Christie, directed by Sophie Daneman, and choreographed by Françoise Denieau, the show was filmed at the Manège de l’Académie de La Guérinière in Caen.

The European tour of Rameau, maître à danser, which began in Luxembourg on 4 November, is accompanied by a DVD released by Alpha, allowing viewers to experience the lightness and freshness of a program that brings together La Naissance d’Osiris and Daphnis et Eglé, two pieces taken from a collection of court dance entertainments composed by Rameau.
