The Well-Tempered Clavier

Concerts & Café are an emblematic event of the Festival de Printemps. The concept is simple: an artist from Les Arts Florissants invites the audience to discover a piece of music during a short concert, before sharing a coffee with the audience at the Garden Café, a stone's throw from the church of Thiré and in the heart of the Artists' Quarter.

Harpsichordist Béatrice Martin is a privileged collaborator of William Christie and Les Arts Florissants. She has participated in numerous productions, such as the inaugural concert of the Philharmonie de Paris in 2015, the 40th anniversary concert of the Ensemble in 2019, and more recently, Handel's L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato on international tour.

For this concert, she offers a selection of excerpts from the first book of Bach's famous Well-Tempered Clavier.
